Inroduction
Being at AMES was a really fun experience. I came from a really run down school, I could sleep almost all day wake up and do the assignment and ace the class. I was a little worried about coming to AMES because, even though I skipped 7th grade, I wasn't sure if I was smart enough to keep up with the kids here.
By the end of my first semester at AMES I was sure that I could do anything that I set my mind to. I like all my classes at AMES I'm learning so much more than I would if I stayed at my old school. I am glad I did decide to go to AMES there are so many aspects here that I like; Some are: All the kids want to learn, You don't have to get up at six just to get to the bus, The teachers know all our names, The classes are difficult enough to actually learn something, and The learning environment is great.

Autobiography
I started at AMES a week into 9th grade. I came from a middle school that I didn't have to try to get good grades. I was sleeping in my classes then I would wake up and ace all my tests. I almost never had homework and did what I wanted in class. When I started at AMES I was unaware of how hard it was to keep up with all the work that was given to me. To add to that I tore my laburnum that year as well so I needed surgery to get that fixed and missed a week of class after the surgery. I was swamped with homework that I wasn't used to doing and was really struggling to keep up with the class.
10th grade started and I was feeling a little bit more in control of my school life. I felt that I could take on the classes and do robotics and not struggle; boy was I wrong I had 5 classes each day and tried to do robotics. I created my own personal Hell and the only person that could help me get out was myself.
Around 11th grade I got smart I still took challenging classes; I just toned down the quantity of the classes. I got my life figured out and was able to take on the challenge of all my classes and robotics with ease.
My 12th grade year I felt like the king of the world I was taking all college classes, was a team lead for robotics, had a successful and rewarding job, and got accepted into The U. Nothing was going to stop me.

Reflection on a Quote
"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that don't work"
-Thomas A. Edison |
I like this quote because it is not degrading yourself and it is inspiring. Thomas Edison could have been hard on himself because his light bulb didn't work but he wasn't; he picked himself back up and continued to work until he got it right. I feel that I have done the same. I am a computer programmer and almost every time I write any code I have at least one error in it. I don't consider errors as a failure I think of them as a learning opportunity and have found what doesn't work and try again until I get it right.

AMES Memory
My favorite AMES memory is when I was working on physics with a few of my classmates and I needed to leave for a few minutes. When I got back they were still working on the same problem and struggling with it. I looked at it for about a minute and suggested a new way to look at it. We ended up solving the problem with that method and one of the people I was working with got upset at me because I just came in and got the right answer in less than 5 minutes when they were looking at, trying to solve it, it for at least 10 minutes.
